About Me

Putting the power back into the birthing people’s hands is my goal.

My name is Lakota Bates and I am the proud owner of Bates Natural Blessings. I am passionate about empowering women to take control of their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I believe in normalizing childbirth and helping women know ALL of their options. I am a childbirth educator, postpartum doula, placenta encapsulator, licensed yoni steam practitioner, & practicing herbalist. I believe my passion for empowering birthing people. will greatly benefit any expectant couple. My goal is not for every woman to have an unmedicated birth, but to give them the power to ask questions and make their own decisions with informed consent. If you don’t know your options, then you don’t have any!

I have been blessed to reside in La Luz, New Mexico as the owner of a lamp company called W Kohler Lamp & Shade Co, which is just 30 minutes from the Sacramento Mountains where I locally foraged some of my plant medicines. I personally am married with two children of my own. I birthed both of my children in the comfort of my own home surrounded by love and birthed in confidence. I first picked up a copy of Spiritual Midwifery months before thoughts of conceiving a child came to mind. The stories of power, confidence, and love was so astounding to me that I knew I had to have a home birth with my children. After my first child was born, I started pursing my role as a childbirth educator which lead to my numerous other titles. As I started this journey, new avenues started appearing. I soon became a placenta encapsulator specialist, postpartum doula, & Peristeam facilitator. I am working on my masters in herbalism. My herbalism and Peristeam facilitator education has lead me to being able to support infertility, conception, miscarriages, pregnancy, postpartum, and later seasons of being a woman. I believe by supporting a body with herbs and Vaginal Steaming can make a huge difference in how we come into each of our own unique, divine feminine energies. I believe each birthing family should be supported from before conception and through the fourth trimester.
